Enterprise Development Breakfast

Bosch Ulwazi hosted the first Enterprise Development Breakfast on 27th November 2014.

The event is envisaged to become an annual event and to be aligned with Global Entrepreneurship week.

The aim of the event was to honour Corporate and SMME companies that participated in the Enterprise Development Programme for 2014, and also to expose corporate business for engaging SMMEs.

It was a moving experience when one of the participants shared their business experience. Mlungisi Zwane of Siyazenzela Trailers shared “I am semi-skilled but that did not prevent me from starting my business, our products are now exported to the sister cities outside the borders of South Africa, we have been assisted by many development institutions to achieve our vision.”

Among the guests of honour were the Deputy Mayor Counsellor Nomvuso Shabalala and Dr Sixtus Sibeta from the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

In her speech, the Deputy Mayor said:

“One thing that small business often needs is personal attention, one-on-one mentoring, rapid response when a problem crops up and individually tailor-made problem-solving.  This is something that local government cannot do and where Bosch Ulwazi has proved to be extremely successful.  They have developed a number of unique innovations with resounding success.  Our dream, at the eThekwini Council, is to create a caring and liveable city for all our residents.  We would like all our citizens to be empowered and successful.  We would like all our people to grasp opportunities.  We have done as much as we can to assist them to do that, and we are always grateful when our partners’ in the city’s economy, the large companies upon whom our economy rests, invests their time and energy and resources into making that dream of ours come true as well.”

Bosch Ulwazi looks forward to hosting this event next year.
